. If you’ve never read the Princess Bride novelization, I recommend it. It’s written entirely with the schtick of being a translation of the fictional book being read and abridged in the movie.

I think The Princess Bride might be a perfect film. I cannot find fault with anything about that movie.

I was inspired to read it after reading Cary Elwes’s book As You Wish , which I can also highly recommend.
I would hope that, were someone to ever try to remake Princess Bride , the studio would be burnt down and the Hollywood sign torched by a mob to remind the world that some acts of creativity are inviolate.

I just wish he’d followed up on the tease in the book for the sequel with a
man without a face thing. I know he was trolling, but that sounded like it was going interesting places.

The Princess Bride isn’t a novelization of the film, it’s a novel that predates the film that adapted it by like 15 years. And I agree that everyone should read it.

Reminds me of the “preview” for History of the World Part II at the end of Part 1. It looked like it would have been a lot of fun.
